IndexNow for Webflow

Easy

Webflow supports custom files in Site Settings.

Webflow lets you host small text assets and reference them directly, which satisfies IndexNow's key location requirement.

Step by step

  1. 1 Go to Site Settings → SEO → Custom files (or Assets, depending on your plan).
  2. 2 Upload a1b2c3d4e5f6a7b8c9d0e1f2a3b4c5d6.txt.
  3. 3 Copy the resulting file URL.
  4. 4 Paste it into the Custom key location field in Index-now, then click Verify.

Watch out for

  • Check the resulting URL carefully. Webflow serves assets from a CDN domain on some plans, and a key on a different host proves nothing — IndexNow will reject your submissions.
  • The key must also be at the site root to cover your whole site: a key in a subfolder only authorises URLs under that subfolder. Use a Cloudflare Worker if Webflow will not serve it at the root.

Then what?

Hosting the key file proves you own the domain — it doesn't submit anything on its own. You still need something watching for changes and calling the IndexNow API with the right URLs at the right time. You can build that yourself, or let us run it for $12 a year.
