Who we are
Index-now ("we", "us") operates this website and the IndexNow submission service described on it. Our registered entity is [LEGAL COMPANY NAME], [COMPANY NUMBER], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. For any privacy question, contact [email protected].
What we collect, and why
If you create an account
- Your name, email address and company name — to create and operate your account, and to send you service messages about your domains.
- Your password — stored only as a one-way hash. We cannot read it.
- Your domain names, sitemap URLs and page URLs — this is the core of the service; we cannot submit URLs to IndexNow without them.
- A one-way hash of page content — used solely to detect that a page changed. We do not store copies of your pages.
- Billing details — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep only Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers.
- Sign-in timestamps and IP address — for security and abuse prevention.
If you use the free llms.txt generator
- The domain you entered and your IP address — to run the crawl and to rate-limit abuse.
- Your email address — to send you the generated file and, with your consent, occasional related emails.
- A record of your consent — the exact wording shown to you, the timestamp, your IP address and your browser's user agent. We keep this so that we can demonstrate what you agreed to.
Email marketing consent
We only send marketing email to people who have actively ticked a consent box. The wording currently shown on the llms.txt download form is:
I agree to the Privacy Policy and consent to receiving emails from Index-now, including my generated llms.txt file and occasional tips about search and AI indexing. I can unsubscribe at any time.
Every marketing email contains a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately and needs no login. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential service emails about domains on your account — for those, close your account.
Legal bases for processing
- Contract — operating your account and submitting your URLs.
- Consent — marketing email, which you may withdraw at any time.
- Legitimate interests — security, fraud and abuse prevention, and improving the service.
- Legal obligation — retaining billing records for tax purposes.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of processors, each only for the purpose stated:
- Search engines via the IndexNow API — we send the URLs you have asked us to submit, plus your domain and key. This is the service.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Our email provider — sending service and marketing email.
- Our hosting provider — running the application.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share your email address with advertisers.
How long we keep it
- Account and domain data — while your account is open, then deleted within 90 days of closure.
- Submission logs — 24 months, so you can audit what was sent.
- Marketing leads — until you unsubscribe, then we retain only a suppression record so we do not contact you again.
- Billing records — as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your data, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU and you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Cookies
We use only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. See our cookie policy.
Changes
If we make a material change we will email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version.
